Ova Ceren writes melancholic stories that weave together magic and heartbreak, drawing inspiration from Turkish and Ottoman folklore.

Born in Izmir, she studied Computer Engineering and, after completing her master’s degree, began working in the IT sector — a career that eventually took her from Turkey to Britain. She later left the corporate world to pursue her passion for writing novels.

She currently lives in Cambridge with her husband, son, and six ducks.

Ova is also the owner of the popular Instagram and TikTok accounts @excusemyreading.
