Mehmet Cemil was born in 1987 in Çukurova. He is a literary scholar, writer, and educator.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Turkish Language and Literature from Hacettepe University, he completed a master’s program in Educational Sciences / International Curriculum at Bilkent University and the University of Cambridge, specializing in literature and arts education.
He served as a guest lecturer at The King’s School, one of the Royal Schools of England, and taught literature at the German High School and Robert College in Turkey.
In 2020, he began performing his one-man literary shows on stage. He founded Velhasıl Academy, a literature school where accomplished writers provide literary education.
His book Edebiyat Terapi debut novel are set to be published in November 2025.
He currently continues his one-man performances titled “Edebiyat Suare” at Zorlu PSM and hosts the literary and arts program “Edebiyat Günlükleri with Mehmet Cemil” on NTV.
